Fluorescence is different from bioluminescence where light is produced by a chemical reaction within an organism. Fluorescence does not occur in complete darkness. Energy from a light source is absorbed by an organism and reemitted. Due to energy loss, the wavelength of the light will be different and thus the color. For this film I've used two SOLA Nightsea X's from Light & Motion. The blue light of the Nightsea triggers the fluorescence and by using a yellow filter on the camera lens, these amazing colors pop up. Filmed with a Canon 7D in a Hugyfot housing, Canon 60mm macro, Light & Motion SOLA Nightsea X, Tiffen Yellow filter
