This clip is from my July 2010 trip to Cocos Island, I was using my Megaladon rebreather and we had some incredible encounters with Hammerheads, I would not have had the same encounters if I had been on open circuit. Cocos Island is located 340 miles off the coast of Costa Rica, surrounded by deep water and lots of currents the island is a meca for many large marine species, most of them sharks... Unfortunately, with the current illegal poaching of sharks for their fins to be used in "shark fin soup" sharks in general are being threatened worldwide and Cocos is a major concern. All of this footage was shot with my Canon 5D MKII camera in a Subal housing and a 15mm Fisheye lens.
